Girls misbehave today because they lack education – Akumaa Mama Zimbi

Broadcaster, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, has advised young ladies to refrain from the act of using social media negatively.

According to her, ladies misbehaving on social media are doing so as a result of the fact that they lack some form of education and have just decided to remain adamant even when there is any.

“These girls lack education and the Bible says, ‘for lack of knowledge, my people perish’. In life it is good to go the narrow way which every girl must follow no matter how tough and difficult it is,” she said in an interview Monday, on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM

“There are so many tough times in life which girls must endure while on the narrow road and trust me, when you get to the brighter side in God’s own will and time, trust me nobody will be able to quench that glory. But unfortunately, most young ladies want to go on social media to misbehave and then later apologise when they get to high points in their lives,” the host of ‘Odo Ahomaso’ on Adom TV told host, Andy Dosty.

When asked whether or not she has been able to reach out to counsel or advise young ladies, she expressed “Andy, I have run my show since the year 2000. What haven’t I said, what haven’t I educated and what haven’t I taught together with my renowned guests?

“In fact, I have said everything and even in recent times have been adding up.”

Most marriages collapsing because of partners’ attachment to their phones – Okyeame Kwame

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame, has addressed a critical issue that is affecting most relationships and the world over.

In one of his songs called ‘Dum Fon No’, the Rap Dacta tells the story of a married man asking his wife to put off her phone and pay attention to him.

‘Dum Fon No’, taken off the ‘Made in Ghana’ album features Yaa Yaa.

According to Okyeame Kwame this song was done out of his personal life experience.

He told Jessica Opare Saforo on Citi 97.3 FM that he chose to tackle phubbing (the practice of ignoring one’s companion or companions in order to pay attention to one’s phone or other mobile devices) because it is the number one reason for most problems in relationships in the world.

“Most marriages are breaking up because of people’s attachment to the phone and what they do on the phone,” he said.

Phubbing makes room for cheating and all the strange things the phone will help you do.

It is very important that we look at this phenomenon with a critical eye.

“It gets to a time, you need to turn the phone off,” he further advised.

Okyeame is married to Annica Nsia-Apau. They are blessed with two children; Sir Kwame Nsia-Bota and Sante Antwiwa Nsia-Apau.

Notable among them are Nana Ama McBrown, Kojo Nkansah Lilwin, Akrobeto, Emelia Brobbey, Kwaku Manu and a number of others who have either taken to hosting television talk shows, creating lifestyle content for TV/YouTube or recording and performing music.

This, however, does not sit well with a number of people who believe the actors and actresses are running some people out of their jobs and should rather focus on keeping the movie industry alive.

Fans putting too much pressure on us – Belinda Dzattah

Actress Belinda Dzattah has said although celebrities sometimes put pressure on themselves to live flamboyantly, society and some fans put too much pressure on them to do so.

The ‘Heels and Sneakers’ actress was speaking on the Class Drive on Class91.3FM on Wednesday, 6 November 2019.

She told show host Prince Benjamin that: “Sometimes, some of us (actresses) put pressure on ourselves, and some others, too, they make the society put pressure on them. Some of us put pressure on ourselves in the sense that: I’ll see what Prince is doing and I’ll want to do the same, forgetting that he’s Prince and I’m Belinda.

“And some of our fans or society, too, they expect too much from us. Someone will ask you: ‘This celebrity doesn’t go on vacation, she doesn’t do this’ and because they see actress A or Actor A going on vacation, posting pictures, they will be like:’Tthis one is richer than this’ but forgetting that sometimes the trips or whatever, maybe, it might be sponsorship. Maybe they have an airline that sponsors them to fly about. So me I don’t let that pressure get to me when I feel like I want to do it, I’ll do it when I feel like it’s not in my desire to do it I’ll not.”

She stressed that fans expect too much from celebrities.

“…They force us, they expect too much from us because someone will see you, you’ll be on screen they expect you to do this, ‘I expect you to drive a so-so-and-so car, why are you driving a corolla? Why are you driving this, why are you driving that’, forgetting that we are human beings like them. You’ll sometimes read comments on your picture and you’ll wonder what have I done wrong.

“It’s you guys, they’ll be like have you seen her shoes, she’s a whole star, see the kind of shoes she’s wearing, the pressure comes from you guys,” the actress noted.

Does my marital status feed you? – Lydia Forson asks TV Africa presenter

Lydia Forson

Actress Lydia Forson is worried about her marital status being discussed by Ghanaians.

According to the actress, she wonders if her marital status feeds and clothes Ghanaians since some people have decided to make it a point for discussion in the media.

This came as a reaction to a show on TV Africa called “PAE MU KA” after she headlined their discussions.

On the show, the host and her panellists said Lydia should be married with three kids but she sits on TV to say it’s stupid ask her if she’s married.

Following this, the actress wrote; “there are so many nasty ways I can respond to this, but I’m going to choose not to. And before you tell me to ignore, you have to walk a mile in my shoes, to understand how it feels to be constantly berated by people who know nothing about you, your life, struggles etc.”

“Why a happily married woman, would be so engrossed in the life of another woman not only baffles me but exposes a lot about her.”

“It seems this is the only way to gain popularity and notoriety these days, but my dear you must be prepared for every smoke it comes with.”

“So when things start to fall apart in your life, you know you laid the foundation.”

Why my marital status is a constant subject of conversation is something I will never understand, does it feed, clothe or improve your life in any way? ?These are the people who’ll be suffering in their homes, crying at night, suffering abuse but will stay silent to maintain their “title”. Happy people rarely worry about other people”.

No worries, I will survive – Kelvyn Boy

Musician Kelvynboy

The love that existed between Afrobeats artiste, Kelvyn Boy and his former boss, Stonebwoy, was so deep that when news of their separation broke about two months ago, it did not go down well with their fans.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz recently, Kelvyn Boy assured everyone that he was a survivor and he was going to be fine. “I will always be grateful for the exposure Stonebwoy gave me but without Stonebwoy, I will survive.

“I have been around for a decade playing with bands such as the Mega Star Band, OBY Band, Soul Nice Band, singing from one venue to the other.

“Back in the day, I could perform for like six hours at parties or at funeral grounds just to make a living. I know the hustling life and being on my own now is no big deal,” he said.

According to him, the God he served, who provided for him when he was nobody, would still provide for him.

On whether he had been approached by any record label yet, Kelvyn Boy, who is planning to release a new single, Yawa No Dey, in December, said yes but he was being careful about who to work with.

“From the experiences I had with my former record label, I am now very careful who to deal with. I have had a couple of record labels promising heaven and earth but I am still not convinced.

“I would prefer to work with the few people around me than to sign on with a new record label which might restrict my movements,” he said.

Known for songs including Toffee, Coffee, Afrobeats, Mea, Loko, Ginger, Pray, Nana Ama, My Story, Anything, Catch the Vibe, No War, Woara and Holiday, Kelvyn Boy said he was grateful that Ghanaians had accepted his Mea song.

“It is amazing the huge response I get anytime I perform Mea. The excitement is something else when I see the fans sing it word for word,” he added.

“I always take inspiration from these old musicians and I am already in touch with some of them for a wicked collaboration,” he said.

I was accused of ‘Sakawa’ because I bought my first car at an early age – Guru

Guru

Popular Ghanaian rapper and hiplife artiste, Maradona Yeboah Adjei, widely known as ‘Guru’ has remarked that he was wrongfully accused of money rituals and fraud because he was financially stable enough to buy a car at a young age.

He made the comment in an interview with Abeiku Santana on his ‘Atuu’ programme.

According to the artiste, he earned money through his music career, and even bought a car from his song ‘Kasiebo’ which featured Obrafuor.

“When I featured Obrafuor in ‘Kasiebo’, I bought my personal car. It was one of these Corolla cars. When I was balling in town with the car, I was accused of money rituals,” he said.

He also added that, being falsely accused of fraud and money rituals was not new to him.

“I have heard people call me game boy several times,” he said.

He however advised that the fact that a young person is living a well-to-do or rich lifestyle does not necessarily mean he/she is into fraud.

“Here in Ghana, everyone feels that any young man living a financially stable life is involved in fraud, but that isn’t always the case. The economy we live in makes it difficult for a young person to even buy a bicycle; so when you are driving a car, then you have a problem,” he concluded.
