Don’t tax sports betting, ban it – Ato Forson to government

Ranking Member on Parliament’s Committee on Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has called on the government to ban sports betting rather than imposing taxes on the sector.

He believes the activity is destroying the Ghanaian youth and must be restricted rather than taxing the gaming industry.

“Ghana today, we are complaining that this gambling is destroying our youth. I have read a number of articles on this. I would have thought the government will come out with a policy to restrict gambling and to even ban it,” he said.

Dr. Ato Forson indicated that: “to run a country is not all about money. You need to preserve society as well.”

‘I’m married to a public figure; I do what wives of public figures do’ – Gifty Adorye reacts to liposuction rumours

Ghanaian gospel musician, Gifty Adorye popularly known as ‘Empress Gifty’ has asked critics who seem ‘bitter’ about her lifestyle to stay out of her business.

Wearing red hair and a body-hugging dress that revealed all her curves after an alleged liposuction, Gifty became the center of attraction after she stormed the studios of Peace FM to surprise radio presenter Akwasi Aboagye who was celebrating his birthday.

Causing a stir with her ‘new banging body’, questions about her looks were thrown at her from all angles from the ‘Entertainment Review’ show panelists who were present at that time.

But ‘tight-lipped’ Gifty insisted that she is only answerable to her husband and as such issues relating to her body should not be anyone’s headache.

In an attempt to seek clarification once and for all, Akwasi Aboagye gathered momentum and asked the gospel singer whether she has undergone plastic surgery and this is what she had to say:

“I’m married to a public figure so I’m supposed to do what wives of public figures do to maintain our image. The rightful owner of my body from head to toe is my husband. And as such I don’t think I’d have to say it for everybody to know if I’ve gone through plastic surgery or not.

“There are a lot of pressing issues in this country that needs attention and my body is not one of those. As for that question, I am not prepared to answer it,” she added.

Meanwhile, many have expressed disappointment at Gifty Adorye after recent videos and pictures of her ‘new body curves’ which somewhat looks like a product of liposuction flooded social media.

Gifty is married to Mr. Hopeson Adorye, a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party who contested for the Kpone-Katamanso parliamentary seat during the 2020 general elections.

Don’t legalise LGBT+; its against African culture – Vicky Zugah

Actress Vicky Zugah has clarified that she has not engaged in anal sex before.

She told Nana Romeo on Accra100.5FM’s weekend entertainment show, Entertainment Capital on Saturday, 1 March 2021 that she was misinterpreted as having said otherwise in a television interview.

“I don’t do anal sex. I have never done anal sex. It came out that I claimed I liked anal sex. I don’t know where I said that. They were discussing oral sex on a show some time ago and the host switched to talking about anal sex.

“I wasn’t paying attention because the main topic of discussion was oral sex,” she stated.

Commenting on the recent LGBT+ conversations, the outspoken actress said: “Personally, inasmuch as I don’t see anything wrong with people’s sexual preference, I don’t think it is right for us to legalise what is wrong”.

“Behind closed doors, people have what they do to satisfy themselves sexually. That’s up to them. But for you to come out and say it has to be legalised, it has to be accepted in our society, that is what I don’t agree with because this is Africa.

“Whether you like it or not, this is Africa. There are things we adopt from the Western world, but we have to as much as possible try to emulate the right things,” she further stated.
