Sarkodie and Stonebwoy will be my deputies if I am made Creative Arts Minister – Shatta Wale

Ghanaians should probably brace themselves for one of the biggest alliances yet after the Great Alliance of the 1996 elections, because celebrated Dancehall musician Shatta Wale is ready to appoint Sarkodie and Stonebwoy as deputies if he is appointed Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.

Shatta Wale, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah is willing to choose any of his arch-rivals in the music industry; Stonebwoy and Sarkodie because he believes the Creative Arts industry needs to be repaired.

He made these comments in an interview with Rev. Erskine on the YLeaderboard series which airs on Y107.9FM.

‘’ If I become the Creative Arts Minister I’ll appoint either Sarkodie or Stonebwoy to be my deputy because they understand me now’’ Shatta Wale said.

He believes the Creative Industry is in a deplorable state, and if he becomes the Minister for Creative Art, the industry will come to a standstill for a month.

‘’ There will be chaos if I am made the head or Minister for Creative Arts. I will halt everything for one month, so I overhaul and repair the industry” he stated.

He also mentioned that, it is only after such repairs that his children can be part of the industry.

‘’I will only allow my kids into the Ghanaian creatives industry only after it’s been repaired. As it stands now, I don’t want them to join the industry’’ he stated.

What examples are we setting by rewarding politicians for bad behaviour? – Lydia Forson quizzes

Actress Lydia Forson is wondering why politicians are constantly “rewarded for their bad behavior” while punishment is meted out to persons who have committed crimes she describes “petty”.

In a tweet on Friday, January 22, 2021, the opinionated actress who has on many occasions chastised politicians for failing to attend to the needs of the ordinary Ghanaian said “We’re constantly punishing the poor, vulnerable for petty crimes and rewarding rich/influential people for doing worse.”

It is unclear what triggered the tweet but the remark came barely a day after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the list of persons nominated for ministerial positions in his second term.

The list has been subjected to scrutiny by citizens with some expressing disgust over the appointment of some personalities who they argue should not have been nominated based on their track record.

“When politicians are REWARDED for their bad behavior, what examples are we setting for the ordinary citizen.

We’re constantly punishing the poor, vulnerable for petty crimes and rewarding rich/influential people for doing worse.

Some Ghanaian celebrities live fake lives – Martha Ankomah

Actress @marthaankomah  has berated her colleagues who live fake lives on social media.

According to her, most celebrities in Ghana live a lie and it’s high time they stop making the younger ones think that it’s an easy journey to riches.

The actress who was speaking on Accra-based Kingdom FM said it takes time for people to be in the limelight but recent trends makes the young ones feel it takes a month or two to be stars and to make huge money from acting.

So if they do not see that when they get involved, they engage in all kinds of unworthy acts just so they can also flaunt their lifestyles on social media.

To her, celebrities mostly wear dresses given to them by people and therefore people should understand that and not be pressurized to live like them.

“I see a lot on my social media page. Most people are living a fake life on social media. Some of us get things for free and so when we wear them, you can see that we are advertising and so if you do not post for the people who follow you to see that this woman is selling something and there is a young girl at home and you write hard work, you’re deceiving the kids. Let people know that aside acting you have other side businesses.

Let people know your side hussle is what is making you take first class flight. Because your lifestyles put pressure on the youth. If we are not sincere to the people about what we do so that they do not put pressure on themselves to do what we do”.
